This workshop is designed to simplify and clarify key Social Security and Medicare concepts, including how Social Security benefits are calculated, when to consider claiming benefits, Medicare eligibility and enrollment, and the different coverage options available. Without a clear understanding of these programs, navigating the decisions surrounding retirement benefits and healthcare can often feel complex and overwhelming.

Through clear explanations and practical examples, the workshop will help you better understand how Social Security and Medicare may work together as part of your broader retirement strategy. You’ll explore the factors that can influence your Social Security benefits, including age, work history, and lifetime earnings, as well as important considerations when deciding when to begin receiving benefits.

The workshop will also provide an overview of Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D, including important enrollment periods and deadlines. You’ll learn how Medicare may coordinate with other forms of health coverage, such as employer or retiree benefits, and explore the key differences between Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans.

Beyond understanding each program individually, the session will explore how decisions involving Social Security, Medicare, healthcare costs, and retirement income can intersect. The goal is to provide you with foundational knowledge that can help you ask better questions, evaluate your options, and have more informed conversations with the financial, insurance, and other professionals you choose to work with.

This session is educational and interactive, designed to give you a clearer understanding of Social Security and Medicare, the choices you may encounter, and the factors you may want to consider as you prepare for retirement. All questions are welcome.
